Structural Inspections
CML initially brought STE4 competence in-house to verify that culvert structures were not compromised during jetting and clearance works. This provided reassurance that culverts were being left in a safe condition during and after maintenance operations, also enabling us to bring any urgent safety defects to the attention of the asset engineer in real time.
Our engineers identified further opportunities to streamline the process for examining Hidden Critical Elements of railway structures, a process which was traditionally split between a contractor to undertake the enabling works, and independently appointed examiner. By bringing examination competencies in-house, we were able to offer a turn-key solution and deliver HCE examinations more efficiently.
