CML Volunteers Lend a Hand to Newark Brazil FC

CML was proud to support Newark Brazil FC with pitch repairs following the recent prolonged dry spell, helping get the pitch back into shape at Claypole Community Park.

As proud sponsors of the team’s kit, we were delighted to go one step further this time and provide some extra hands-on support to help the club and its players get back onto a playable pitch.

The Work Involved

The volunteer effort covered these key areas of the site:

General pitch repairs – Cracking and rabbit damage had left several areas across the pitches in need of attention, with sections requiring digging out, refilling and levelling to restore a safe, even playing surface.

Clearing an overgrown area – One section of the site had become heavily overgrown with weeds and nettles. With a toilet block due to be installed there in the coming weeks, the team used a brush cutter to clear the area and make way for the new facility.

A huge thank you to our fantastic CML volunteers who gave up their time and got stuck in to make it happen. We’re proud to support our local communities, and the organisations and clubs that bring people together.

  • I would just like to say a massive thankyou for the help CML gave to us down at Claypole.
Without the help from CML, the state of the pitches was so bad after this record breaking dry spell, that I genuinely believe we would have had to cancel the first games of the season and forced many kids to have to wait even longer to get back playing the beautiful game they love after a long break over the summer! Help from companies such as yourselves is invaluable to volunteer run clubs like us and has an impact on so many of our kids and coaches.
From everyone at the club, thankyou so much!
