CML supports Women in Rail Reverse Advent Calendar

As part of the Women in Rail Reverse Advent Calendar initiative, CML made donations to three charities.

Our Wigan Office made donations to The Brick Shelter for the homeless along with a £50 voucher. The Brick said, “Your donation will help us to provide our vital services across the community. During the cost-of-living crisis, the demand for emergency food has increased and The Brick continue to open its doors, be inclusive and provide nutritious food and warm spaces to the whole community, regardless of demographic.”

Our Sheffield Office donated to The Archer Project and were very lucky to be shown around by Tim Renshaw, CEO of the Project. For over thirty years they have supported thousands of people who were homeless in Sheffield. Over that time the service has changed to add new ways of working so that instead of aiming to get people into accommodation, they aim to help people to build fulfilling lives. In purpose-built premises within the Cathedral it has allowed them to work with many other agencies and provide a service of greater breadth and depth than they were previously capable of.

In Leeds we donated to the local The Trussell Trust Food Bank, who support a nationwide network of food banks and together provide emergency food and support to people locked in poverty, and campaign for change to end the need for food banks in the UK.

Thank you to all our employees who made donations and for supporting these charities.
