CML Supports “Emily the Engineer” at Railway 200 Inspiration Train

Darlington - celebrating 200 years of the Railway

CML was proud to once again support Network Rail’s Emily the Engineer campaign, this time alongside the Railway 200 Inspiration Train visit to Darlington.

Civil Engineer Apprentices Harry and Ben, together with Faye, our Marketing Manager, welcomed schoolchildren as they stepped off the train, handing out Emily the Engineer booklets to help inspire the next generation of engineers.

The campaign celebrates engineering in rail and encourages young people to see the exciting opportunities the industry can offer. By combining the event with the Railway 200 celebrations, where The Stockton & Darlington Railway opened on September 27, 1825, it gave schoolchildren a chance to learn about rail’s history, its future, and the people who make it possible.

A big thank you to Harry and Ben for representing CML with such enthusiasm – and for helping show that engineering really is a career to get excited about!
