Last week saw volunteers from across CML support the Emily the Engineer campaign, which involved distributing activity booklets to children at railway stations across the UK, on behalf of Network Rail. This initiative supports the railway industry’s investment in STEM engagement, providing children some boredom busting activities along their train journey, as well as learning more about what engineering involves.
We visited Leeds station and gave out approximately 500 booklets in total.
Thank you to all our CML volunteers who gave up their time to support this. We were pleased to be joined by Alice Moxon, one of our Network Rail Eastern colleagues from their York office.
We hope the children enjoyed finding all about being an engineer and life on the railway!
