Charlie’s Volunteering Trip to Kenya with The Memusi Foundation

CML Support Memusi Foundation

In July 2026, Charlie Roper, one of our Civil Engineering Apprentices, flew out to Kenya for two weeks on a volunteering trip with The Memusi Foundation. Taking part in this project would go on to have a lasting impact on the local Maasai community.

Ahead of the trip, Charlie fundraised over £2,000 to help fund a Medical Camp, providing much-needed access to healthcare for those who need it most. The Medical Camp went on to deliver over £500,000 worth of medical aid to more than 500 people from the local Maasai community, with attendees seen by doctors and dentists, and given access to breast cancer screening throughout the day.

As part of the trip, CML sponsored two full football kits for two of The Memusi Foundation’s school football teams. Charlie had the pleasure of presenting the shirts to the schools’ sports teachers, helping to support the next generation of young footballers in the community.

A huge well done to Charlie for taking on this incredible challenge, and for the generosity and hard work that helped make such a meaningful difference to so many lives.
