CML joins the Top Apprenticeship Employers 2026 celebration at ICE HQ

CML and apprentice Harry Bennett celebrate at ICE HQ in London.

CML recently attended the celebration event for the UK’s Top 50 SME Apprenticeship Employers for 2026 at the ICE in London.

The recognition was celebrated at an event at the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) headquarters in London, delivered in partnership with Higherin (previously RMP Enterprise). The rankings recognise the UK’s top 100 large employers and top 50 SME employers for apprenticeships.

CML was represented on the day by Faye Corkett, Content Marketing Manager, and Harry Bennett, Apprentice Civil Engineer. Harry is currently completing his Civil Engineering Degree Apprenticeship and was interviewed at the event about his journey so far. As part of his Level 6 End-Point Assessment, he will return to ICE HQ in December to receive his ICE Eng Tech Accreditation certificate.

Higherin Top 50 SME Employers List

Harry said: “It was an honour to have the opportunity to represent CML at the Higherin Top 50 Apprenticeship Scheme Awards. The day was very enjoyable as I was able to meet other companies who also invest as much time into apprentices. And attending the ICE Headquarters in London was amazing, as it has been an aspiration ever since starting my Civil Engineering Apprenticeship.”

The rankings are not based on numbers alone. They also take into account the experiences and feedback of each employer’s apprentices, which makes the recognition particularly meaningful for the team. Attendees heard from fellow apprentices about their own journeys, and saw first-place certificates presented to BAE Systems and L J Construction Carpentry Contractors Ltd, the top-ranked large and SME employers.

Being placed in the Top 50 SME category reflects the investment CML makes in developing its apprentices and the future of the industry.
