Prudhoe Station Footbridge was reopened to the public at the weekend after we successfully completed a full makeover of this Grade II listed structure.
Due to the extent of the repairs required and limited space around the station, the structure had to be taken off site for refurbishment. The work involved steel strengthening and renewal of the timber deck including new GRP treads. All the metal elements have been grit blast prepared to SA2.5 with a new paint system applied returning the structure back to its original historic colour scheme. Whilst challenging at times to preserve the original features of the structure, it is great to see this historic bridge returned to its former glory.
