Mental Health Awareness Week (May 18-24) has taken place during lockdown and has been a reminder that Covid 19 can cause extra stress and anxiety. We chose this year to support the Mental Health Foundation with their campaign to encourage kindness and asked managers to ensure they make regular face to face contact with staff through Microsoft Teams and What’s App.
We are making progress through the Mates in Mind training scheme and have nineteen staff trained on Stage 1, ‘Start the conversation’ and seventeen on Stage 2 ‘Manage the conversation.’ We hope to involve all staff as soon as lockdown ends.
Lauren Vasey and Richard Long are trained as Mental Health First Aiders and are available if you would like a confidential chat.
There are industry support services such as the Construction Industry Helpline and within CML Richard Long and Lauren Vasey are trained Mental Health First Aiders.
Remember, it is ‘okay to talk’. Make that step now and start the conversation.
