Congratulations to Jae Priest, Kieran Taylor, Josh Hodgson and Ray Khan, who have been selected to become apprentices on the new High Level / Degree Civil Engineering Apprenticeship Scheme.
The four officially started work with CML this week, where they will learn technical and engineering skills over a three to five year training programme gaining on-the-job experience at Head Office and on site, as well as attending college or university on day release. They will have the opportunity to progress to Degree Level, debt free and ‘earn while they learn’, and gain professional competence and accreditation as an Incorporated Engineer.
Training Manager Angie Leigh says they come from a variety of backgrounds and see the apprenticeship scheme as an alternative to university. “We were impressed by their enthusiasm and ambition to build a career in civil engineering.”
CML Director Faye Gardner believes the scheme is an important development for the company. “This is a win-win situation because it’s an ideal opportunity for someone who’s ambitious and committed to develop their skills and CML will benefit through growing our own technicians and engineers for the future.”
