Raising Vital Funds for the Lighthouse Charity
On Friday 19th September, in wet and misty conditions, two determined CML teams set off at 07:15am (after a slight delay courtesy of Jack!) to take on the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge.
Both groups performed brilliantly, finishing well within the 12-hour target. The “Old Boys” team — Jake Ford, Cameron Deuchars, Jack Forman, and Carlton Worville — completed the route in an impressive 9 hours 20 minutes, just ahead of the Apprentices — Jake Sterling, Harry Bennett, Tom Butler, and Ben Longfellow — who crossed the finish line in 9 hours 54 minutes.
Taking different routes around the peaks, both teams pushed through the challenging weather, pacing themselves without knowing how the other group was progressing.
The event was held in support of the Lighthouse Charity, raising vital awareness and funds for those in the construction industry who face hardship, which raised a fantastic £350 for the cause.
Aside from a few sore legs, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the challenge — and there’s already talk of doing it all again next year!
